Your local Rotary Club of Langport and Somerton is an informal friendly Club, forward thinking and open to new ideas from all its members. Prospective members, gentlemen and ladies, are always made welcome. Being part of an international organisation, the Club fundraises for worldwide projects and to provide financial or practical support after disasters but concentrates on the local area, with every Rotarian determined to give something back to their own community more often in terms of their time. The Club has remained active during the pandemic, meeting on Zoom and running some creative online fundraising events to support local charities including Food Banks, the homeless charity ARC, PROMISEworks and the Yeovil District Hospital Scanner Project.
The Rotary Club has an active social and service programme and membership is by invitation. Why not come along and share dinner with Club members at the Langport Arms Hotel or join them on a local visit one Thursday evening? Recent visits have included Wraxall Vineyard, Sutton Bingham Reservoir and Treatment Works and the Bishop’s Palace Gardens at Wells.
