Ryukyu Karate is a martial art not a sport, we can trace our origins back to China via Okinawa. It is suitable for both male and female from the age of five with no upper age limit.
We have been training in England since 1958 and at our Langport Dojo we have two Sensei (teachers) who between them have over sixty years of karate training.
We still teach it in its original form and it is for self-defence and it is ideal for all ages, shapes and sizes.
For the person lacking confidence it will give them confidence and for the aggressive person it will teach them self control and a feeling of calmness and for the unfit it will make them fit and healthy.
Our style of karate includes meditation, yoga type exercises, keep fit and it is open to any student of any other martial art who wishes to train with us.
