At the meeting of the Huish Episcopi Parish Council on Monday 28th January 2013, the Chairman, Shirley Nicholas (centre), presented their cheque in contribution to the Multi Games Use Area (MUGA) Scheme.
The MUGA will be situated at the Langport Recreational Ground and it has been confirmed that work will commence on 11th February 2013.
The Chairman congratulated the MUGA Team, especially Julie Worthing who was the co-ordinator. Julie, Simon Martin and the Team had to take over the reins after Paddy Mounter sadly passed away.
The Team has worked tirelessly and all-out to get the MUGA off the ground.
It is a magnificent achievement and a great accolade to those who have been involved from the beginning.
There is no doubt that this will be an asset to the community and for the young people to enjoy.

12th February, 2013
Julie Worthing has been nominated by the Langport and Huish Memorial Field/MUGA Committe to receive a Western Gazette Community Award.
Julie took over the reins from Paddy Mounter after he sadly passed away and she has done a sterling job.
Julie and the team has had many obstacles to overcome, mainly centered on raising the funding.
The Committee considered Julie to be a most worthwhile candidate to receive such an award for the best community project in our area.
Here in this photograph, which was taken on Monday 11th February 2013, at the commencement of the MUGA construction, Julie is seen on the left, with Simon Martin, who was one of the leading members of the team and Shirley Nicholas, Chairman of Huish Episcopi Parish Council.
We are grateful to the Western Gazette for the use of this photograph.
