Langport Festival - 29th May to 7th June

Now in its 4th year, Langport Festival is proud to present a kaleidoscope of special events for your entertainment. The Festival brochure is out now, with a list of all the goodies you can choose
from across ten days of local talent on display on your doorstep. Featuring our popular annual flagship events, the Open Art Competition, Short Story Competition, Battle of Langport Walk, and the Walter Bagehot Memorial Debate, which this year has two Barons debating the Magna Carta.
The theme this year is the Battle of Langport, fought on 10th July 1645. So 2015 is its 370th anniversary! The competition to design the brochure cover was won by Emily, of Kingsmoor Class, Huish Episcopi Primary School.
Other attractions include dance, handbell ringing, floral art, music brunches, glass blowing, knitting, songs of praise, a programme of talks, exhibitions, visits to Aller Vineyard, the Hanging Chapel and All Saints' Church Tower, a quiz night, a choir concert, health walks, craft workshops and a boat launch!
Full details, including a venue map, times and prices are in the brochure.

You can also visit the Festival website  There are activities and events to suit everyone, and many of them are free. Please go along and give them your support.
Brochures are available from most libraries, information centres, post offices and other local outlets across South Somerset. It can also be downloaded from our website.
