Curry Rivel Music is a registered charity (number 283442) and was set up by Canon John Simpson in 1979, when he was Rector of Curry Rivel Church, to promote music for Curry Rivel and surrounding villages by holding four concerts per season in St Andrew's Church. As a condition of our status, all children and students are admitted free and one concert a season is sponsored by the Countess of Munster Musical Trust which sponsors talented young musicians starting out on their music career.
We are non profit making and the money raised in advance ticket sales and sales on the night, covers the costs of hiring the Church and the musicians. We also provide a music workshop for the children of Curry Rivel Primary School once a year under the terms of our charity status and educational aims.
We are affiliated to "Making Music" which publishes a list of supported young musicians each year for us to make a selection of performers.
Location St Andrew's Church, Curry Rivel
