Chairman of Huish Episcopi Parish Council

I was born in Langport and am proud of my roots. In deciding to stand for election to the Parish Council, I was strongly influenced by my Father who served on the Langport Town Council for many years.
I have served Huish Episcopi Parish Council for forty years and have been the chairman for the past fourteen.
I am the Parish Council’s representative on the Langport and Huish Recreational Field Committee.
I represent Huish Episcopi Parish Council on the Langport and District Youth Club Committee.
Prior to being appointed PA to the Head Teacher of Wadham Community School in Crewkerne, a position I held for 22 years, I had worked for two businesses in Langport as a secretary to the MD’s
Until recently I had been a member of the Friends of Langport Surgery. One of the functions of The Friends is to raise funds by way of raffles and events, the proceeds of which fund evening talk sessions covering general health issues. Practical matters have also been addressed, for instance the provision of automatic surgery entrance doors to assist the disabled.
I have two daughters, both living locally. I was widowed in 1989, however, five years after this I met my partner John, who happens to be the current webmaster of this website.
All of our councillors have to be dedicated and capable of seeking the best way forward for Huish Episcopi.
Specific responsibilities: Staffing, Development Control Planning, Community, Memorial Field, Langport and Huish Episcopi Youth Group.
