Langport Town Council and Huish Episcopi Parish Council obtain funding from the SCC Climate Emergency Community Fund.
Cllr Stephen Tate (LTC) and Cllr Keith Peto (HEPC) working together through the Covid restrictions, mostly via video calls, submitted a joint LTC and HEPC bid to the Climate Emergency Community Fund offered by Somerset County Council.
We have been granted funding for subsidiary power Photovoltaic arrays (Solar Panels) for the;
• Sports & Social Club
• Public Library
• Public Toilets
• Cricket Pavilion
• Scout Hut
• Project management costs.
• Total £52,600
This represents full funding of all five sites. Project management will start as soon as possible and we are hoping for completion before the summer, significantly reducing carbon output from council buildings.
Unfortunately our submissions for ecology and carbon emissions audits, along with PV lighting for Cocklemoor car park were unsuccessful.
If further funding becomes available we have quotes for The Ridgeway Hall ready to go.
