LEG - Langport Events Group.
The group was started over 10 yrs ago by a group of volunteers to bring the community together to raise money for chosen local charities, hence the Langport Christmas Fair was born. Our aim is to involve schools, churches, local businesses and voluntary organisations. This proved successful and last years Christmas Fair and Firework Display was our best yet. Thanks to all who supported us.
Donations by LEG over the past few years have included Langport and Huish Youth Club (who recently won the South Somerset Voluntary Club of The Year Trophy, the criteria, "making a difference supporting young people across the county"), Ridgway Hall Disability Group, both having had funding stopped when the County and District Councils pulled the plug and the MUGA (Multi Use Games Area) at The Recreation Memorial Field. The MUGA Team raised a staggering amount of money enabling the project to go ahead. Pets As Therapy (with a donation from our Annual Dog Show).
Right up to date we are a small committee always looking for new members, especially the younger age group, so we can extend The Fair to make it bigger and better, even volunteers for the day and evening would be appreciated, there can never be enough pairs of hands.
