Langport Runners is your local athletic club and we invite you to come along to our club nights to see for yourself how you can join in at a level that suits you and give it a go!
Our main club night is on Wednesday evenings at 7 pm at the Langport and Huish Episcopi Sports and Social Club.
For 2016 up to the end of March our Juniors have the use of the Huish Episcopi Academy gym, near the Leisure Centre from 6pm to 7pm. This may change for next winter. We also train at the Huish Episcopi Academy grass track during the summer from 6.30 till 7.30 and seniors are also welcome to join in the training on the track.
A small group usually goes for training runs on a Sunday morning.
We have an introductory group for anyone trying running for improved fitness, weight loss or to return from injury or illness.
The free 5k park runs at Montacute are popular with members as a relaxed informal way to enjoy running.
Members take part in a wide range of events around the County and some events worldwide.
Formed in the summer of 1998, we aim to be a friendly and sociable club for the young as well as older recreational runners and those who are serious about improving their performance. A growing number join us to improve their running for Triathlon events.
Our Junior Club is aimed at 8 to 13 years and we support and assist our local Primary Schools with their cross-country events in the winter. In the summer we support the inter school athletic competitions and encourage general all-round athletic fitness. Over 13's join in with our seniors training at levels suited to their age and abilities.
Every Junior member is important to us. We aim to help them gain self-confidence, develop their abilities and to enjoy the fun that sporting activities can provide.
A new initiative is the North Moor 1k / 2k fun run on the first Sunday of every month for ages 4 to 14 years and free to enter.
We welcome all ages from eight to eighty and all levels of fitness and ability. For more information call,
Pete Jones Tel 01458 251486
